i love all the colorful doors in Dublin

whether the Irish were rebelling after Queen Victora's death

when everyone was ordered to paint there doors black in morning

or

if Irish wives were sick of there drunken husbands stumbling

home from the pub into the wrong house.

I was going to make some delish Irish stew, my favorite dish from Dublin.

but i was craving some breakfast for dinner 

so green shamrock pancakes it was!

i tried this for a pancake batter dispenser 

idea from here

i also tried this new whole wheat pancake recipe that was yum!

and just so you all know 

shamrocks are extremely hard to shape out of pancake batter.

these were my best three

the rest just looked like little monsters

new halloween breakfast? maybe.

maybe i just spent a few hours of my day watching these videos.
waste of time?

okay they are all good.

Funny story about Allan, we had the LDS missionaries over for dinner the other night and it was one of the boy's FIRST day on his mission, he had arrived in Texas only a few hours earlier. After dinner the other missionary who has been on his mission for a year now pulled up the www.mormon.org website to show us the videos because Ryan had not seen them. The missionary pulled up his favorite one, which was Allen, and just so happened Allen is the other missionary (who just got here) best friends family from back home. Small world.

That would have made a lot more sense if i was better at remembering names.

Anyways.

and followed the inside instructions for

today really was a day of experiments

my friend Chelse linked a Maiden Braid Tutorial to her blog
and i have been dying to try it

i also applied for a job

but this job is way different than the usual {advertising} jobs i apply to

its for a Adoption Agency

i bought my first Sam's Club membership today

totally made me feel like a grown up

bought a bajillion packs of kool-aid

did you know they ring those up individually?

i did because i always get in line behind

Okay I have something for you all a delicious & healthy recipe.

Whole Wheat Raspberry and Banana Muffins!

I got this recipe from my dear old friend Seirra via facebook
 {i guess f-book is still good for something!} 


These are seriously so good.


1 cooking spray 
2 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp low sodium baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cup fresh mashed banana
4 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup raspberries of blueberries

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly coat two 12-cup mini muffin pans with cooking spray.
2 In large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
3 In separate bowl, mix the bananas, egg whites, and vanilla extract.
4 Combine banana mixture into flour mixture until smooth.
5 Fold in raspberries and spoon the batter into prepared muffin pan.
6 Bake 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Alegria

So remember how Ryan gave me tickets for Cirque Du Soleil Alegria for V-day?

Well it was a few weekends ago and I forgot to tell you how awesome it was.

We started the night a Water Street Seafood Company with some friends that were also going to the show. 

It was our first time, i give it a thumb up. I love going downtown.

Then watched incredibly strong and flexible humans do extremely awesome things.

A few of my favorites.

the dude who swung all over the place hanging on to a stretchy rope from the ceiling

the dudes that bounced and flipped on these bendy balance beam type things

the strongest guy ever who could probably live on his hands  

this girl, i loved her ribbon dance and Ryan fell in love with her hula hoop skills and her
i was jealous. i can hulla hoop too... kinda

these two freakishly flexible girls

lots of awesome trapeze people

the cast flipping around on the trampoline stage

and the fire man who lit the stage on fire

oh and music was beautiful!

little fact about me:

i am the worlds worst decorator 

first word that comes to mind awkward

i struggle

not being able to paint does not improve the situation

our apartment needs some major help

so i am going to give decorating a try

worst case i hate it, and take it all down, right?

so bare with me in this post and many to come

as I finally try to pull together our home.

No laughing, okay maybe a little because well i am too.

Project 1: Kitchen

I wanted color, bright colors 

pretty much I want it to look like my favorite antro dish towels

so i used them

for wall art....

3 easy steps

Step 1: iron flat dish towel

Step 2: use clear thumb tacks to pin dishtowel around the canvas

Step 3: hang on the wall

 Played around with adding a bit more color.
 Still looking for a dish tower to display some of my colorful dishes.
