I have been dying for some good old outdoors time lately, I just feel like am indoors so so much. So when I found out both Ryan AND I had a three day weekend for MLK Day I jumped on the chance! We headed up to the "hill country" of Texas to check out Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock. Fredericksburg is this quaint little town that we had a great time wandering around all the different shops, restaurants and antique stores! I few of our finds where a German bakery that we picked up some pastries at for breakfast, Sweet German pretzel equals life changing yumm! Also that super old badge pictured below Ryan found at an antique store, he was ecstatic, it is pretty awesome! We also tried "The Best Burger in Texas" it was pretty delish! AND I am almost 99% sure I saw Tim Riggins ranch from FNL I need to re-watch the last episode to be sure but it look identical! We camped out that night at Enchanted Rock and in the morning we hiked up/down, all around and even into Enchanted Rock, we had a blast!

Also good news! Turns out that I took more than 2 pictures on my last Idaho trip, not many more but a few!

I got to see Grandpa & Grandma Price while I was home, I am so lucky to have these two amazing people in my life!

Evans girls! This is a good time to announce that there will be 3 new Evans babies this summer, yep 3!!! Shelby, Jessica and Janae are all pregnant! Yay! It was so fun to see all the girls and littleBlaze while I was home, I miss them all!

My hilarious, awesome, sweet little brother Aaron Potter opened his mission call tonight! He will be serving a two year mission for the LDS church in the New York, New York North Mission, speaking Portuguese! I am so excited for him and a very proud big sissy! I know that he will be an amazing missionary and will touch so many lives! I may have been secretly dreading this day/looking forward to it his whole life, not having my little brother around or at the other end of the phone for a whole two years will be tough but I know that it will be worth it and that this will be such an amazing time in his life! Plus there are always letters :) A saying I saw on pintrest put it best I think...
"Missionary (noun): Someone who leaves their family for a short period of time so that others may be with their families for eternity."

I am back to the blogging world! Just needed a little break, I thought about not backtracking clear to October but I have the worst memory ever and I don't want to forget about the last three months of 2011! So I will start where I left off... October. (With a lot of help from Instagram)

It was a great month for us full of pumpkin deserts, gypsy costumes, pumpkin carving, carmel apple making, 0 scary movies and a road trip to San Antonio....

I love weekend getaways!

Next was a trip {home} to Idaho at the start of November, where I managed to capture a whole 2 pictures, go me! I planned the trip to arrive a few days after my sisters due date and to be there for all the baby excitement. But little baby Charlotte was a little too comfortable in there and came on her own time, which happened to be two weeks late. She arrived the day before Thanksgiving happy and heathy! Sadly I was already back home in Texas.

Even though I did not get to meet this little bundle of joy as planned, it still was a wonderful much needed trip home with lots of family time! Charlotte is already growing up to fast, luckily Kaylee is the best and sends me LOTS of pics :)

Thanksgiving we got to skype the fam...

and fry a turkey! I was a bit skeptical but it turned out to be super yummy-o! We had a delicious dinner with friends!

Of coarse right after Thanksgiving comes one of my favorite things to do, decorate for Christmas! Which I got to do twice this year. Once at the store...

and then at home!

December was full of work parties, treat making, sugar plum fairies, light watching, dinner parities, holiday music.... mostly just spreading Christmas cheer!!! (I tend to become even more cheesier, if that's even possible, around the holidays! I can't help myself)

It was just Ryan and I this Christmas and just like last year we caved and opened all our prezzies Christmas Eve... I don't regret it, it was too much fun! We were absolutely spoiled rotten.

We rang in the New Year at our friends new house and I finally got to see the much talked about "secret room" it is just what it sounds like, hidden behind a bookcase and all. Ryan is convinced we need one...someday, we need a house to put it in first :) We partied into the wee hours of the morning and then it took us a whole week to recover, well worth it. For my New Years Resolutions this year I am making a "lifetime" list, a bucket list of sorts. I have made lists here and there but this one is going to be official and it WILL have 100 things on it, so it may take me the whole year to prefect it. Feel free to join me, it is going to be AWESOME!

As far as the new year goes we have just been playing with Christmas presents, recovering from strep throat (me..boo) and had a another little day trip to San Antonio. I have been looking forward to this for months, we went to see Les Miserables!

I love it, and I have been walking around singing "24601" all week long. It was not as magical as the first time I saw it in London two years ago it was still amazing, and this time I got to share it with ^ that cute face this time!

Charlotte Kaye Pond, the newest addition to the Potter family, is one week new today! I can not get enough of her. I am absolutely dying to hold her but more about my trip home and Miss C being two weeks late later, for now Facetime and pictures are my best friends! I am one proud Auntie, congratulations Kaylee (my sissy) and Tyler on having the cutest baby ever!

I just found out that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, one of my most favorite books ever is being made into a movie! Which I am alway excited to see my favorite stories in another form, even though I alway come away saying not as good as the book. But after watching this preview I am pretty stoked, it looks like it is going to be a goodie AND that it comes out in December, how am I just finding out about this!?

Pumpkin Pancakes & Buttermilk Syrup

HELLO OCTOBER, I am oh so happy to see you!!! I am welcoming fall and anything related to it with open arms! Really fall is such a fabulous time of the year!

So... I tried a new recipe this Sunday morning and the second time around it worked and it was amazing! My grandma Potter's Pumpkin Waffles & Buttermilk Syrup, this is deff going to be our new October General Conference tradition. How great was General Conference btw? Seriously some amazing talks that really touched my heart. Can't wait to read them! So back to these pancakes... they are heavenly, I was in a bit of a food coma yesterday because of them. Yes the title of this post is pumpkin pancakes and the recipe is for waffles, we had to modify the recipe into pancakes because our waffle iron was giving us a hard time.

Grandma Potter's Pumpkin Waffles & Buttermilk Syrup

Pumpkin Batter

2 C. Flour
1 T. Baking Powder
1 T. Cinnamon
1T. Sugar
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 C. milk
1 C. Canned pumpkin
3/4 C. Margarine
1 T. Vanilla

Mix first 6 ingredients together in a large bowl and set aside. In a separate large bowl, beat 4 egg yokes (save the whites). Add milk, pumpkin, margarine and vanilla to the yokes. Mix well. Add in flour mixture. Beat your egg whites to a stiff peak and fold into batter.

Buttermilk Syrup

1 cube butter
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. buttermilk
1 t. Karo
1 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla

Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil in a large pan. Once at a boil remove from heat, add baking soda and vanilla. Stir well. Mixture will expand to twice it's size.

Loooove this syrup!

This really is an October must try recipe! Happy Fall dudes!

What started as my bestie coming to visit me quickly turned into a good little chunk of are awesomely hard-core friends coming to visit us last week. They are the BEST! And it was awesome! We mostly swam and made fun of each other, you know the usual.

Day ONE we rounded everyone up from their flights and headed to San Antonio. We caught the end of the Boise state game at some sports bar on the the Riverwalk for the dudes. We stayed on the Riverwalk that night, there was lots of giggling and not much sleeping

Day TWO we went to Schlitterbahn, the largest waterpark in the US!!! And it was a bit of a let down with 2 hour long lines. boo. But we made our own fun on the lazy river/wave pool making up our our games like "get'm in there" and battling the rapids chain game. Yep we are truly twelve year olds.

Day THREE. We did the Alamo and the Riverwalk in San An and then rushed to Corpus to play at the beach! Highlight of the day, Allyx and I beating John in a intellectual battle. That's right Purdue grad WE are smarter!

Day FOUR. A full day at the beach which turned into Corncce day. Whats Corncee? Well its an awesome game we made up using bocce balls mixed with corn hole rules and fortress building.

Game 1. Matt, Chase & Dave vs. Ryan, Dan & Chon. It was a close game but R, D & C came out with the W. Winners play the girls team (Whittney, Allyx, Nattie ohh & Chase) and the girl destroy the boys team. Boo-yeah team Texas Forever (girls team) = Corncee Champs!

Ryan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last weekend! It's been a great 3 we have had 3 graduations, lived in 3 states, and have only had 3 disagreements. I joke, i joke. But really I just ador this guy!

So for our anniversary we spent a 3 day weekend up in Austin. It was our first time going and I fell in LOVVVE with that city!!! Ryan was super hesitant about going there. He kept saying "I hear it's just one big hippie town." And here I am thinking "I know right!" ohhh how we differ. Anyways once I told Ryan there were awesome swimming holes all around Austin he was on board and we both a fab weekend!

We got to stop at the beautiful San Antonio Temple on are way up to Austin.

Barton Springs Swimming Hole just out side the city. Quick story, so we had heard that this water was freezing but us being from Idaho and all, where you put on your swimmers and jump in ice cold lakes at the first chance of any warmth from the sun after a long winter, well we thought we could handle it like champs. So we get there and cautious Ryan dips his toe in to check the temp and looks back at me and says "oh it's not bad at all!" So because I am a super trusting wife I cannon ball right it, it felt like I was punched in the face, got the wind knocked out of me and all my muscles cramped up at the same time, it was SO cold SO freaking cold. When I finally make my way up for a breath Ryan is cracking up a refuses to get it because it was so cold. brat. Then we enjoyed watching other people get in for the first time with pained expressions on their face for the rest of the day, why is it so funny watch stuff like that? Later we went back to the hotel and enjoyed the beautiful pool while playing all the best little kid pool games.

The Capitol, I loved how this city was set up, there is the funniest street full of awesome restaurants and shops that goes straight through downtown and up to the capitol. We check out all the local places like...

an awesome old fashion soda shop and candy store...

tons and tons of amazing vintage clothing stores, some antique stores and super cool disguise store...

Oh and of coarse we our hearts out from a local wing place for ry to burgers and shakes(my nutella and pretzel shake pictures oh my yummyness), mexican food, pizza and my favorite Moonshine Brunch!

I love exploring new places! And I love long weekends, road trips and mini-vaca's.

Oh summer where ever did you go? Pretty sure this is the palest I have ever been at the end of a summer, I am a bit embarrassed. But to be completely honest I am so OVER summer (after this weekend of fun in the sun) and then I will be ready for the cold weather that I know will never come! I even bought myself some over the knee boots that I have been eyeing, can't wait for my first chance to wear them!

Homesickness, that pretty much sums up my mood as of late. Why does Texas and Idaho have to be forever away from each other? And when did I become a grown up and have all these responsibilities that make it so I can't take off in a drop of a hat, seriously that came out of no where. Recently my sweet cousin/friend Ryan passed away, it seriously broke my heart not to able to be with my family during this hard time. He was so young only 21 and it was all so sudden and unexpected. It's still strange to me that the happy boy I grew up with at our family Sunday afternoons, family vacations and weekends on the ski hills has moved on from this life, I love him and will miss him.

On a happier note I am so look forward to my next visit home for some much needed family time and to welcome a new beautiful niece into this world!

I LOVED this book, it really is a must read. Full of social injustice, you will being crying, laughing and even cheering. It really makes you step back and look at the way you live and the things you do just because "that is how they are done." Great story, well written, and a book you won't want to put down!

Okay now the movie, different than the book but still a great movie. How could it not be it has such an important message and it's really just a great story. I found the movie a little more "light" and "happy" than the book but it still got its point across. I would recommend both the book and the movie but especially the book :)

We got in lots of family time :)

Checked out the new BYU-Idaho audtorium on our way up to Driggs, its awesomly humungo!

Spent a day rainy day Driggs compelte with Grandparents, Vicotr huckleberry shakes and drive around the Matthews Place and Swamp Ranch. I love it up there!

Got to see these lovley ladies we were just missing Cyn!

Allyx and I suprised Dan and Matt with a awesome 30th birthday bash with our friends. It was complete with BBQ, volleyball and swimming. We were having to much fun for picture taking but we snagged a few the next morning on our way to the airport.

I am ready to go back!

Princess Bride quote...I can quote this movie a lot BUT I have never seen it. That is when you know that other people quote it a little to much ha. Like Dumb and Dumber for example, LOVE that movie. Ryan and I were watching it tonight while battleing it out in 5 Crowns (ryan won) when I relalized somthing I say a lot is acutally from that movie {how bout a hug??}... i like hugs. anyways. One more sidenote, tonight I learned that the blind boy from dumb and dumber the one that they sell their dead bird to, was in the MTC with Ryan. RANDOM.

Triple Chocolate with Raspberry Cupcake Recipe I made for Ryan's birthday. Here ya go mom and any one else who may want it, its the Natsers recipe so of coarse its delish!

Triple-Chocolate Cupcakes!!
1 package (18.25 oz) chocolate cake mix (I use the most rich one I can find)
1 package (4 oz) chhocolate instant pudding and pie filling mix
1 container (8 oz) sour cream (I use 16 oz, it makes it more moist)
4 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups (12 oz package) semi-sweet chocolate morsels

and frosting i tried this recipe, YUM

Preheat oven to 350
combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, vegetable oil and water in a large arge mixer bowl; beat on low speed just until blended. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in morsels. pour into 2 cupcake pans.

Bake for 25-28 min.

Frost with chocolate frosting and garnish top with raspberries!

SO so so good, I ate way too many!

I am anxiously counting down the few days until i get to see these three and my other loved ones!

Beach to Bay Day finally arrived and I survived! Friday night our team of 6 people/3 couple had a little pow-wow spaghetti dinner pre game shin dig you get the idea. Saturday morning Ryan and I headed to the bay we had the last two legs of the marathon and my sweet husband decided to run my leg with me what a gem. The 4.2 miles went great, I was just not prepared for the heat it was SUCH a humid morning. It was my first race and it was fun fun! (looking back on it, during not so much).

Later that night my boss (LOVE my new job btw) had a birthday party that was BLAST. The theme was bohemian and it was adorable. Her husband and friend surprised set it all up, such a fun night with yummy-o food! Of coarse I am obsessed with the elephant cake stand.

Which brings me to good news! 11.11.11 we will be getting a new little niece or nephew! Kaylee and Tyler are expecting the FIRST little one on my side of the family. SO SO SOO excited!

polish. I had a Ulta trip this weekend and scored 5 new polishes. From the top: OPI: bling dynasty, ESSIE: sew psyched, ESSIE: chinchilly, OPI: black shatter, ESSIE: splash of grenadine. It was a fun day. This is my first time buying ESSIE and so far i like it (currently wearing chinchilly perfect grey shade). But my favorite of the lot is OPI: black shatter! It's so cool, a must have. You put it one top of another color and then it shatters so you can see the color underneath and have cracks of black. It's the bomb, but if you are not a fan of black polish there is a silver shatter coming out in May and supposed to be red and white coming soon too!

delicious food. i love it. too too much, but everyone does right? ryan calls me his skinny fat girl because i am always talking about FOOD. every once in awhile i get in the mood to cook, to try new things. today was one of those days!
Diner: Eggplant Parmesan which was more like a eggplant lasagna, Garlic Ricotta Stuffed Mushrooms and a Caesar salad. It all turned out so so good. Ryan of coarse was super hesitant and probably only even tried it because it took me so long to make. Guess what? HE LIKED IT, he even got seconds and then went to McDonlads later because he said he needed his protein. ha. This weekend I also made chicken salad crussiont sandwiches that had almonds, celery, grapes & greek yogurt very good. And for Easter dinner at Ryan's request ham, cheesy potatoes and rolls.

good friends. i have made some great girlfriends down here, thankfully, because i need them. i always do and Heavenly Father must know this about me because though out my entire life i have ALWAYS been blessed with the best of friends. i feel so spoiled, i have always been surrounded by such amazing people. i just love people.

happy holidays. i love celebrating. with ryan, with my family and with lots of candy. it was a great easter ryan and i had a easter egg dying competition sunday. we found a judge that we knew would not take the position lightly, aaron my bro. ryan won with his blue egg, it was pretty cool i guess.

He does this work out program thingy called Seal Fit.
Seal Fit has these insane monthly challenges.
This months challenge is to ruck a marathon.

Ruck= brisk walk/jog with 40-50lbs backpack on.
Marathon= well you all know this, 26 miles.
INSANE

Well my little sweetie pie did it. TODAY.
5am to 1pm with tiny 5 min breaks every six miles

He is one crazy hombre. I really wish motivation was contagious.

This weekend we went to Sand Fest, what's Sand Fest? It's when a bunch of professional sand sculptures get together and show off their skills and non-professional sand sculptures walking around gawking at them in amazement. Seriously? Most of these pictures are of the amateurs sand sculptures.

Friday Date Night

We were this ---> '' close to staying in and glueing our sleepy butts to the couch, but last minute we changed out minds and headed out to the minor league Hooks game. SO glad we did, it was seriously the most beautiful night out! It was our first hooks game and will most definitely not be our last. The field was actually really nice, right off of shoreline so we got the breeze from the gulf and the bridge in the background. Our seats were taken when we arrived so we snagged up some awesome empty ones right behind home plate next to some friends. We enjoyed a super nutritious dinner at the park. Ryan: Hot Dog, Fries, DP and peanuts. Me: DP and Cracker jacks (it felt appropriate). That about sums up our diets Ryan junk and me sweets. The Hooks lost but after the game there was a firework show and some country concert which we had enough of after 1 1/2 songs. Great night with my bf/ec/bb/sb/ hubby. (Translation:boyfriend or best friend/eternal companion/ battle buddy/sticky buddy/husband). Love my life.

Funny story about Allan, we had the LDS missionaries over for dinner the other night and it was one of the boy's FIRST day on his mission, he had arrived in Texas only a few hours earlier. After dinner the other missionary who has been on his mission for a year now pulled up the www.mormon.org website to show us the videos because Ryan had not seen them. The missionary pulled up his favorite one, which was Allen, and just so happened Allen is the other missionary (who just got here) best friends family from back home. Small world.

That would have made a lot more sense if i was better at remembering names.

Anyways.

Okay I have something for you all a delicious & healthy recipe.

Whole Wheat Raspberry and Banana Muffins!

I got this recipe from my dear old friend Seirra via facebook
{i guess f-book is still good for something!}

These are seriously so good.

1 cooking spray
2 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp low sodium baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cup fresh mashed banana
4 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup raspberries of blueberries

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly coat two 12-cup mini muffin pans with cooking spray.
2 In large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
3 In separate bowl, mix the bananas, egg whites, and vanilla extract.
4 Combine banana mixture into flour mixture until smooth.
5 Fold in raspberries and spoon the batter into prepared muffin pan.
6 Bake 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

So remember how Ryan gave me tickets for Cirque Du Soleil Alegria for V-day?

Well it was a few weekends ago and I forgot to tell you how awesome it was.

We started the night a Water Street Seafood Company with some friends that were also going to the show.

It was our first time, i give it a thumb up. I love going downtown.

Then watched incredibly strong and flexible humans do extremely awesome things.

A few of my favorites.

the dudes that bounced and flipped on these bendy balance beam type things

the strongest guy ever who could probably live on his hands

Grey's Anatomy Season 5

I watched Grey's back in the good old days of 112 in college, but only up to season 4.
Even so several years later I still enjoyed season five.

It reminded my of another time in college when for a half of a day I decided I should be a doctor. ( I occasionally get slightly ahead of my self and forget about details). A few hours later when I started think about more of those details I decided maybe a nurse. Then it all ended when I got a paper cut and nearly passed out from not even full drop of blood.

Am I the only on that thinks like this? Example 2. I go on a lot of " I want to run a marathon" kicks. ( i hate running). Then after running my first mile in weeks I think, okay maybe a 1/2. Then two days later I am done with my running phase for awhile. Maybe the solution to this little problem of over thinking of mine is baby steps. That is why I am happy to announce that I have signed up to run in the Beach to Bay Relay this May. It will be Ryan, me and two other couples each running 4 to 5 mile legs (i can totally do this). This is the first race I have ever done (besides high school track) so any tips will be appreciated!

I love love. I love being in love. And I love celebrating love! Even the 20 years of being single on v-day before I met Ryan, I always have loved it! Valentines Day is another excuse to celebrate and I am ALWAYS looking for reasons to celebrate! Like Ryan's promotion this Thursday... celebrate! Me putting in my two weeks notice to carinos... CELEBRATE!!!

Valentines Day (well Sunday when we celebrated v-day) was perfect! Ryan had been out of town all weekend on a hunting trip so I had lots of time to my self to prep. I made Ryan's favorite roast, potatoes and corn (best sunday dinner ever) and my favorite asparagus and chocolate covered strawberry's mmmm. I went a little construction paper crazy and cut out tons of red and white hearts and used thread to string them down from the ceiling all around the dinning room table. Ryan's letter was also construction paper lots of shapes and sizes of colorful paper and stuck to my big magnet board. I had way to much fun making it. I got Ryan candy (and then ate it all opps) and Call of Duty Black Ops. If thats not love then I don't know what is! I just had it sitting on the table I was too lazy to wrap it but it took him sooo long to ever see it, then finally WHAT?!? Black Ops? hehe it was funny. Ryan got me well actually us tickets to go see CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: ALEGRIA that is going to be in Corpus this weekend. Whao I am so excited! I especially liked this gift because it extends the celebrating into this weekend! Ryan also wrote me the sweetest letter ever, he is so good at that. And my sweet parentals give me a adorable necklace and Ryan a giftcard, I love them and hate not being able to call them all the time right now. Actual v-day love was substituted for angry/ mean people, ya I worked. I can't believe how extra angry people were on such a happy day. Anyways pictures.

So 30 years ago my dad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints to Tonga. My parents are back visiting the Tonga Islands for the first time since my dad served there as a 19 year old boy.

Internet there is really slow so I will pass along the updates for the rest of the family to see (grandma, Leisa, Su, Terry and any other family that knows about this blog :)

Here is the first update.

Maloeleilei from Tonga. Well we have made into our second day on Tonga. I can't say it has
easy for either of us, but that's just the way it is. We didn't get much sleep on our all night flight
over to Tonga so we were pretty sleep deprived when we got here. Karen got in a little nap during
the day, but I didn't sleep at all. Last night we got almost no sleep. Between the rain storms,
fighting pigs, roosters, cats and dogs fighting and barking most of the night. Then at 5:00am the
church next door starting beating huge drums to call the worshipers to meeting and several other churches
started ringing thier bells to call thier worshipers to church.

Last night we went to the Temple here and it was amazing. I have been to many temples and this
is absolutely the most beautiful temple I have been in.

Tomorrow we fly to the northern Island group of Vava'u for three days and two nights from there on Saturday we will
fly to the middle island group of Ha'apai which is the most primitive and probably the most beautiful island group.
There we will stay for 4 days because that is the home island of our host and his family still lives there. They have
many small primitive islands with beautiful sandy beaches and Karen wants to spend some time relaxing on the sandy beaches.

After Ha'apai we will be returning to the capital city of Nuku'alofa. I think we will rent an apartment across from the
temple for that last couple of nights so that we can spend more time at the temple. The apartment has air conditioning,
a fridge and a washer and dryer.

The family loved the clothes that we brought. They are all immediately wearing them and enjoying them. One huge hit was
Hershey's chocolate candies they were devoured immediately

Karen is taking after her daughter Kaylee as the only thing she wants to eat is pastries and ice cream from the shops in the capital city.(Hehe when Kaylee and I went to Europe she was scared of the food and would only eat pastries and gelato, she missed out on a lot of good food and made herself sick. silly girl.) Everything is very expensive here. A single scoop of ice cream is $3. A three gallon container of ice cream
$85.

One story before I go on to the pictures. When we got to the airport in LA for our flight out we were standing in line to
check our baggage and get our seat assignments. We were in line behind a gentleman and his wife. They were both dressed
very nicely. He told us to go ahead of him as they were waiting for family members. I suspected that he was Tongan so in
the Tongan language I asked him if he was going to Tonga. He said yes and asked me if I was going. I told him that I was.
He asked why I was going. I told I was going on vacation with my wife and that I had served as a missionary there and my
mission president was President Hopoate. He looked at me and said "I am President Hopoate". We were all completely shocked
and hugs and tears ensued.

I just got off the phone with my parents they were able to call for a little bit. There was just a bit of a delay in the phone but they are having fun! I could hear pigs in the background. It is 6:30pm tomorrow over there right now and 11:30pm here in Texas. They were preparing a big dinner at my dad's old mission companions house with his family. My mom said their little 8 year old kept running by in one of my shirts that fit her and that she was not to sure of my parents but they keep giving her candy so she is warming up to them. She said they don't speak too much english so my dad does a lot of translating. Except for there older daughter who is 20 speaks great english because she went to the LDS high school in Tonga and they teach in English there. My dad's old mission president is now the Tongan Temple President and gave them a tour of the whole temple last night, they loved that. My dad says he is getting some great pictures and can send them tomorrow, so check back I will post them!

i {naturally} love my moms.

i am proud of my cookies & ryan is proud of his beard.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
-cream together-
1 tbls. milk
1 tesp. vanilla
3 cup flour
3 teas. baking powder
-blend-

-chill dough for 30 minutes-

-flour your rolling pin and surface-

-roll dough out and use your cute cookies cutters-

Bake at 375 for 8 min

Nattie's Cream Cheese Frosting

2 8oz pkgs of cream cheese
cube of butter
2 tsp vanilla
i bag powder sugar
(i split this recipe in half and it was perfect of this batch of cookies!)
-mix-

add food coloring

and FROST!

When ever I got to pick the soups of the day I ALWAYS picked Chicken with Wild Rice and Tomato Ravioli because they are the best. But I would always accidentally call the it Wild Chicken with Rice soup, ya that changes things. People would usually go with the tomato ravioli after that comment. opps.

For some strange reason last week I had a sudden urge to do a puzzle.
So I swung by Half Price Books (which does not have half prize puzzles fyi)
and I picked us out a awesome unicorn puzzle.
750 didn't seem like too much, well it is, its a lot.
We did half of it (the easy parts) in pretty good time
now there is just a half done puzzle sitting on your dinning room table
and it is haunting me.
Ryan suggested tonight that we bag it
I fought for the puzzle and said I would finish it.

Okay I know what your thinking, your on your 5th book (Frankenstein) for the month
(side note 4th book Sarah's Key was really really good, super depressing but I totally recommend it. I don't know way Holocaust stuff is so interesting to me. But if you read it be prepared for some tears. When I was half way though I told Ryan that I had to quickly finish reading it because it was so depressing. But at the same time I loved it. Side note complete.)
AND doing a huge puzzle.
Whittney has way to much time on her hands....
Well its true I quit my job.
And I need lots of breaks to between my endless job hunt/application filling out.
Hence the books, puzzle, bike rides and movies wayy to many movies.

I never told this blog about my ex-job.
A. because this is not a private blog
B. because I tell you what city I live in.
C. spilling onto the Internet my exact location workplace/city just kinda freaks me out.

But know that I don't work there anymore I will tell you about it.
I work at the airport, for an airline.
It seemed like the prefect job, had awesome benefits.
Such as $30 tickets round trip in the US, ya awesome perk.
Not so awesome job, I quit for several reasons.
And now I am endlessly filling out job applications.
Hoping to find something I love, something challenging.
Sometimes I get frustrated I have been graduated for a year
and still don't have my dream job. But then I remember that half of this
time was getting us situated with Ryan's job.
Which I am super thankful for, because he loves it.
Things will work our for the best the always do.

Its a chilly 30 degrees here in south Texas and
the people here are acting like it is the end of the world.
It's a bit silly.

welp Ryan is asleep and I have some puzzling to do.
goal. one hour. 3 pieces.
I told you we were to the hard part.

I will mostly likely see this post tomorrow and think
wow I am a loser, and that this post is way too wordy.
But I love my life, and promise a much more exciting post next time.

i am a slow reader.

so far i have loved them all.

30 year old love story fanatic mormon girl finds loves in an unusual way.

So much more than circus life during the Great Depression.
But I don't want to give anything away, just read it.
But warning you are going to want a pet elephant after.

As long as Sophie Kinsella writes about Becky Bloomwood I will read it.
I laughed the whole way though it.

I am only on page 19 but I have a feeling that I am going to like it.

Yes it is true that not a single one of these books is on "the list", i will get there. And I have crossed a few off "the list" The Other Boleyn girl:check, Pride and Prejudice:check, 1776:check, The hungry games series:check. And a few others off the list. check.check.check

I also need to add a few to the list off the top of my head: World War Z, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Uglies series, Son of a Witch, Frankenstein, finish Confessions of Georgia Nicholson books.... okay new list coming soon. Get your suggestions in now.

Oh what a happy time of the year!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

The week of christmas I got to go to the place where every time you leave the house you see someone you know also known as Idaho Falls and HOME. While Ryan was hard at work.

What a happy week full of time with my awesome family, games, shopping, food, annual Potter seafood dinner, dad's b-day, fudge, sister-in-laws and new niece, mother-in-law, by two besties Nattie & Allyx, and SNOW!!! PERFECT WEEK.

Luckly for you I remembered a few hours before I left to use my camera for the first time all week.

I made it back to Texas early morning Christmas Eve to spend the day with Ry we had a delish Chirstmas Eve dinner at our friends house and played some games. After we got home we ended up having our Christmas South Texas/Mexico style (same thing) where you open you presents at midnight on Christmas Eve, yep it was as awesome as it sounds! I got so many fun and cute things from my friends, family and hubby who made my first Christmas away from home extra special.

I am not ready for it to be over so maybe I am still listening to Christmas music.

Last weekend I got to go to New York City with Ryan, Dad, Mom and Grandma Potter. We had a grand time. It was the first time for my Dad and Grandma. We squeezed alot into the 4 days we were there.

We played touriest by seeing most of the "must see's".

Central Park. Wicked. Times Square. Manhatten Temple.

Rocfeller Center. Empire State Building.

Staten Island Ferry out to see the State of Liberty.

China Town. Soho. Grand Central Station. Washingotn Square Garden.

Financial District. Ground Zero. Tried to go to Regis & Kelley, no luck. lots of subway rides.

It was a perfect weekend spending lots of much needed time with my parents and grandma, they are the best! We had loads of fun exploring the city, and not getting lost once! I am pretty proud of that accomplishment, I mean I get lost here in Corpus. But thanks to the iTrans NYC app I download we made it around just fine, it was a life saver. If you are planning a trip to New York and need help on the subway it worth every penny of the $3.99. December was the perfect time to visit, seems like a lot of other people thought that too. Saturday night at the Rockerfeller Center was not a good idea crazy crazy crowded. Next time I think I would like to see the city in the summer and just relax in Central Park and the Met the whole time, until then good-bye NYC!

a few things I don't really understand....
maybe you do?

beauty pageants. I don't really understand the point and they seem well just kind of vain. Don't get me wrong I LOVE getting all dressed up and pretty things just as much as the next girl. I just really don't understand the point of showcasing your self to an audience. I find Beauty Pageants for little girls even more strange. All the make-up they put on their cute little faces just looks freakish, like on the movie Little Miss Sunshine. BUT in all fairness I HAVE never been to one or had any part in one, the closest I have come to one of these is watching Miss Congeniality. Which I loved by the way. That movie kind of gave me the impression that it is about girl bonding kind of a thing? Or is it more of a tradition? Do people do it for the scholarships? I think it is silly to form a opinion based only from what I see in movies so enlighten me people. What's the deal with them?

facebook poking. Is it flirty, funny, is it like saying hi, or is just as creepy to you?

changing a tire. I have been taught several times, but it still seems such an impossible task to me. Maybe I just need a girl to teach me next time?

It was a nice, quiet, relaxing thanksgiving with just me and my partner in crime, I sure love him. And we sure missed our families, it was strange not being surrounded by our loved ones, maybe next year!

So many things to be thankful for, we are truly blessed!

hopefully some HP 7 part 1 again

and then turkey sandwich leftovers for the rest of our lives.

This is my first time making Thanksgiving dinner this could be interesting.

Oh i am so excited for this time of year. Thanksgiving only 2 days away I attempting to make a Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. Then December which = happiness.

Kincet, fun to play. Even more fun to watch your friends play

We are twinners. It's actually surprising does not happened as much as it should considering that 1/2 of the clothes that I own Allyx also has, we have good taste.

Last weekend we had a awesome short trip up to Utah to see our friends.

Got to to breakfast with my long lost cousin. Smash burger with friends. Kincet, Dominen and of coarse next to no sleep cause that's how we roll.

We had a pit stop/got stranded in Houston and had dinner at Cheesecake with friends which happened to be next door to an Antropologie with the best window displays ever, they never disappoint.

Something interesting clicked this weekend, I would like to live in Utah. I know I was surprised too. I have never been "anti-Utah" but I have never really thought I would live there. On the way home Ryan said he was thinking the same thing. Who know if its possible but maybe Utah will be in our future a few years down the road.

Space for sure! I always wanted to be an astronaut when i was little. In elementary school I lived in Houston where we went on field trips to NASA and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Which it is.

Well it was 4 1/2 years ago, I was in college and just got a new job at Carino's where Ryan happened to work and he has been in love with me from that day on or something like that :)

You would not even have to pay me YES yes and Yes but i would gladly take the money and then go sky diving with it.

my cute little BIG brother Aaron is a senior and plays football

he is probably the best ever and i may be a little biased

but seriously he is really good and works really hard

fall at the Potter's revolves around football and volleyball

its a time where...

the grandparents get out the comfey bleacher chairs and trek out to the games friday night

my mom, the sweetest lady you will ever meet transforms into this screaming crazy lady in the stands :) she is pretty passionate

my dad loses many hours of sleep from editing photos, full-filling his booster club president duties and worries the night before the game

Kaylee & Tyler get work off and come and show support

Emily actually watches every play of the game unlike her boy-chasing friends

Ryan & I huddle around my macbook and watch the live broadcasts from Texas and have been known to yell into the screen

Oh and i flew home for 2 games, guilty :)

and AARON the team captain, linebacker, occasional running back and the team SHIELD. Becomes Mr. focused and i learned the not to bother talking to him between the hours of school and game time because he wont even respond.

I am so grateful i was able to make it home for 2 games! I made it for SENIOR night vs. Shelly. What a close game the whole time, but Hillcrest pulled though with the win and i lost my voice. I also made it to the Blackfoot game another close game, where Aaron played great.

The season ended last week, my dad and Aaron are in mourning. But I am so proud of my brother for having such a spectacular season and for just being a awesome dude. love you bubba!

Friday i had the day off, i lovvvve my days off. usually they mean getting stuff done but Friday was just an enjoyable day. My day, from the end to the beginning, why not?

We ended the night playing settlers with our friends and watch "The nightmare before Christmas" first time i had seen it and i loved it. But after it was one of those movie that i just kept thinking why have i not seen this before?!?

Before that I had quite the impulse buy...

Ryan said that this was the best purchase i have ever made (he is just happy that he does not have to play photographer anyone) because now i have a model to put my clothes on and I can take the pictures my self. i love it, its perfect i can even pin stuff i am making to it, which means i will hopefully be getting less pin pricks. Her name is Gisele.

i found this gem in a store that was going out of business next door to the cafe i had lunch at with my friend. Cafe Heaster's.

OH MY GOSH. i did not stop talking about this place all day long, ask Ryan he had to listen to me. When you find something awesome and you want to share it with the ones you love right? (if anyone comes to visit us in south texas we will take you :) So naturally i tell Ryan how we have to go back asap so he can try it and his reply... oh ya that place is great i went there a about two MONTHS ago with the guys from work, i thought you would like it.... WHAT!?! and you never told me..... ohhh its sooo good though.

BEFORE that lovely lunch i went to the fabric store and got...

Estate sale!!! Jessica & I woke up super early and drove outside of Corpus to the estate sale. I was excited cause this one had a lagre sewing room in it and was hoping to get a serger no luck but I did find these treasures.

i don't like to whine and complain on the internet, but maybe its needed occasionally

i am not that great with words, but this picture sums up my feelings pretty well.

yes i should think of all my blessings, but i don't want to right now

yes i should get my grumpy butt to bed, but instead i act like child who tries to stay up even if they are exhausted and will most likely fall asleep on the living room floor. (why do kids/I do that?)
